"Cabbage Head" and a Giveaway :)

This was wildly fun for me! It's kind of "Suzi Bluish" don't you think? It started out as a loose sketch; and I really didn't start out to have it look like a Suzi face but I just kept going. I do love some of Suzi's faces she draws and paints! I've tried my hand at them, before, without much success.

I really screwed up the hair on top and just kept over-working it and decided that I would have to cover it up with something festive, whimsical, yet pretty at same time.

I went into my scrapbook paper stash and found those lovely cabbage roses and just had to cut them out and see how they would look on top of her head! I touched them up with oil pastels and glimmer paint and they appear more dimensional.

One thing led to the other and I started to add collage elements with the birds, nest, egg, words, etc. I really had a blast with this one. I painted with acrylics, did some over stamping and journaling, too. The background began with an acrylic wash and some stamping with a script stamp.

I've decided to offer this piece as a Blog giveaway! It's on 140 lb.-weight watercolor paper and is approx. 8 1/2 x 11 in size.

If you're interested, just leave a comment, here, and I will set the deadline for submitting your comments for: Friday, June 4th

If you're unable to leave a comment here you can email me (Artbeliever@gmail.com) and I will add your name to the list.

I will announce the winner on Sunday evening, June 6th.

The winner will also receive a collage sheet that I will create just for you.

Much love to all! Marilyn xxoo
