What is your definition of a princess?
I don't really have one but I've always had the perception of one. Ya know; perfect in every way, bred to have the perfect manners, pampered, only travels in the perfect social situations (kind of like ones I used to see in high school-hahahahaha)
This is a journal page I created and just finished up. It's a "twofer" exercise in portraits as well as journaling.
I actually feel the expression, on this "princess" is sassy and has a little mischievousness to her don't you? There in lies why I put her tiara crooked :) This princess is not perfect. I'm not so sure you can read the words to the poem, there, even if you click on the picture to enlarge but it eludes, to the fact, that this princess is not perfect. But; she still holds attributes that offer some charm.
I guess I like to think of a princess as one who is loved for who she really is and not what others expect of her. Maybe that's my definition.
I'd love to read what you think.

I love your "less than perfect" princess and your perception of what a princess is. This is a really expressive painting and I just love it.
She has such lovely eyes... I think a princess is someone with a kind and pure heart, someone that is aware of and grateful for who and what she has in life.

Sophia is a sweet princess. I have always wanted to be a princess but Mr. Createology says I am too old! Phooey!! I do not want to be the queen as she is mean. I want to be the princess as she is sweet and kind and loving (and spoiled). This is a wonderful journal page Marilyn.

I think of William's future wife in England and all the scuttlebug about her having a "past!" Come on people, it is 2010. When I think of a princess I think of Princess Diana in her gorgeous wedding dress. She was so naive and paid such a price for being a princess...... Your paintings are just lovely. Keep on, you are doing wonderful things.

I have a sign on my studio door that proclaims, "The Princess of Quite-A-Lot." I think a princess is named by those around her -- for many reasons!
