Saturday, Aug. 11th-Hubby and I are heading up to Racquette Lake, soon, to hop on a boat cruise and tour around the "Dacks" a little bit. It's a gorgeous day so we thought we'd take full advantage of this:)
I thought I'd upload a couple of pictures of some art I've worked on this week. One is another felted purse! I am hooked on needle felting; it's so relaxing and it's not very time consuming. I call this purse "Polka Dots and Posie". The blue color of the purse just was screaming polka dots to me :)
The other picture is of a frame that I altered. I recently taught a class at Art Connection called Fanciful Frames where I shared two techniques on altering a wooden frame. This technique is using Gesso as a primer, some old dictionary pages and decoupaging napkin elements over and adding image and some embellishments. I finished mine at home and the mid section is a transparency from Angela Cartwright's paper collection. I call this piece "Dreams of Home". I had fun applying oil pastels and distressing with Distress Inks.
That's it for now; the lake is calling me! I hope to take some nice pictures, too, to share.
Love to all.....................Marilyn

Hi Marilyn,
So glad you're back. I love both of these pieces. The gesso & decoupage technique is really beautiful. I love that frame.
