This is a journal page I worked on over the weekend. It reflects my ongoing uneasiness with the weather we've been experiencing, not only in my own area, but across the country. The page also reflects some discoveries I am making through it all.
I have found my art journal helps me to work through feelings and one thing that I am learning from news reports and talking to people going through hardships, there is hope! The human spirit is amazing!
And; people coming together, in communities, and some helping outside their own communities, to assist their fellow man - volunteering time and hours to help out in some way with clean up, food, a lending ear, etc. Businesses are offering donations through the Red Cross - it all offers hope for so many in need at this time.
I also am paying attention, more, to each and every new day! When I hear the birds singing, outside my window, I awaken with a renewed sense of hope!
For all who are going through hardships, awakening to hearing the birds' song, find peace and hope in your days knowing that there are others who care and are reaching out to help.
My continued wishes to all for a safe and hopeful week ahead.
Much love.....................Marilyn

Your page is stunning and inspiring! Your post about hope is so timely... It's something we all need to have and spread! Thank you...
This page is wonderful and the sentiment is right on. So many people fighting the weather and working together-makes you very grateful!

Wonderful attitude Marilyn. Being surrounded by your birdies in this page is so optimistic. I think sometimes the news is so in our face, we are forced to process over and over again this horrible information. Glad the journal is your outlet, I suspect it has been for quite some time, you seem to bring such vibrancy of life to it. Hugs. xox Corrine
Your faces tell stories alone Marilyn, and the details you add are sensational! Love this new piece and I hope you are enjoying the week. The best part of blogging is getting to meet this wonderful group of artists that all help each other spiritually.
This page is just gorgeous Marilyn. It really does make me feel hopeful just looking at it.
You are an excellent draftsperson, as well as, very creative. Your portraits have such personality..love it!
Beautiful art and words Marilyn and your journal work is always inspiring and uplifting- a safe place to express and regenerate. Best to you!
Wow, this piece is really something. I admire your ability to express it so in images and words. I have yet to cross into that realm of journaling myself but yours is inspiring. Thanks for stopping in too, I'd like to add.
xoxo Kim
Such beautiful thoughts eloquently expressed through your beautiful spread, Marilyn. Our area (in New Jersey) has been hit quite hard. We're OK, but so many people aren't. And now the rain has started again. Many prayers and blessings are being sent. Hugs, Terri xoxo
Hello Marilyn- Your art is amazing and I feel so blessed to be taking your class at Cap-Mo the 11th and 18th. You are so dead on about people having hope and caring for others through the "storm". I work for the City Mission and we have also announced being a drop off point for donations and have offered help to those impacted by the floods. I love the organization I work for-truely following God's word!!!!

This is wonderful, Marilyn. I just love the pensive far away look in her eyes and you can almost read her (your) thoughts about all this terrible weather that is bringing such devastation and hardship. I just love your art.
This is gorgeous and love the little birds under that beautiful woman!
you always find the best color combinations. fantastic piece again!
We must all focus on how very lucky we all are, especially in times of such hardship. We also need to pay attention to what these weather patterns are telling us! Climate Change is real and there is HOPE if we all would listen!!!
Lovely art as always Marilyn!! Must go get my latest issue of Somerset and find your work!! congrats on that !!!
Yes as soon as you are ready to give up on people in general, somebody does something kind to somebody in need, and you know there is still hope! A beautiful page, such feeling.
You express it so well in your post and in your art--your journals must be wonderful to look through.
Love it Marilyn! You are the journal master! xo Diane
