Blog Giveaway! "Simple Pleasures"

I think it's time for a Blog giveaway don't you?

I came across this image at a really neat flea market shop out in the country. I just thought this little girl was the sweetest! I decided to sit down at my art table, today, and create something using this image. She's on a really old greeting card and the card, itself, was in pretty bad shape. But; I still had to have her. :) I printed the image out in grayscale and overpainted it with heavy body acrylics. I used some embossed wallpaper for around the edges, printed out the saying on tissue paper and added a sticker that I felt was appropriate.

So.............................I am offering this piece which is created on a 5 x 7 book cover. All you have to do is leave a comment, here, with one word that comes to your mind when you think of a simple pleasure that you enjoy.

If you are unable to leave a comment on my Blog, you can email me at Artbeliever@gmail.com with your interest in the giveaway along with your one word.

The deadline for commenting is: Friday, June 19th. I will announce the winner on the Sunday of that weekend. :)

Good luck and hope you're all having a good week. Be safe! Love, Marilyn

Oh Marilyn. This is such a delightful piece! I love that it celebrates simple pleasures because as I get older I realize that they are truly the richness of life. In fact, it's difficult for me to narrow down a simple pleasure but I will. I am just new to gardening and decided to save a patch of garden to grow a variety of plants. I call it my "baby garden". I look forward to seeing its progression every morning and actually sit and just take it in when I'm feeling particularly overwhelmed by the world. It puts everything in perspective for me. Two mourning doves have discovered it too and sit in the dirt snuggled side by side for hours. Thank you for having such a loving and generous spirit.

Hi Marilyn, what a great giveaway, a really stunning piece of art.

I have a few simple pleasures I enjoy, reading, creating, listening to music and all these have to be done when I'm by myself so my word would be 'solitude'

Marilyn, I would love a chance to win your sweet image and book cover art piece!

Simple pleasures......truly so many, but for sure just gazing out the window at nature, be it birds, squirrels,flowers,--on another note, seeing my family smile over a simple dinner(nothing elaborate), playing games with family or friends, having Rufio(pet dog) just cuddle next to me like I am his favorite person(heheheh, I'm not), I will stop! It is funny how SIMPLE things can bring the greatest joys!!!!!
Thanks Marilyn!

She's lovely, Marilyn, and she brings to mind one of the simple pleasures that I enjoy: "reminiscing." Funny, it was difficult to pick just one answer to your question -- when you think about it, there are so many simple pleasures that we're lucky enough to enjoy every day. And that would include viewing your creations!
