Journal 365 with Pam Carriker

I am a huge fan of Creative Workshops

I have really enjoyed my experiences with the online class offerings. One of my goals is to offer one, myself, in future. I hope to take some time later in summer to begin planning.

Recently I signed up for Pam Carriker's
online journaling workshop through Creative Workshops. Pam's class is called Journal 365 and at the beginning of each month, for a year, we get a lesson with new techniques.

I am sharing photos, here, of the cover of the handmade journal I created with Pam's guidance. The cover of the journal is fabric/paper that I made and thought it made a wonderfully soft and collagey cover. There are also photos, here, are of my first spread from our first lesson. I have separated the spread into two photos. The one with the door is my first page. I love doorways and thought this would bode well for my first page. The last photo is a shot of the journal lying down so you can see the signatures. I can't express how much I've enjoyed our beginning in this workshop and already can't wait for May 1st to learn more and play.

At first I was reluctant to commit to a whole year but I feel it will really help me focus on how to organize my time to sit down and create in my journal.

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend! I'm thinking of all, of you, and know how much I appreciate your friendships, inspiration, and continued support!

Thanks for the wings! Love to all! Marilyn xxoo

Wow! The journal looks lovely and you've barely started. I really like how you used the door image as your first page. It shows so much symbolism: welcome, new beginnings, open here, begin here, etc. Simply perfect.

I look forward to more posts about this magnificent journey.

"Journal 365" is quite the creative commitment however I just know you will accomplish this. Your cover is beautiful and very interesting. The doorway to "enter" and then the page to "begin" are the perfect path to continuing to be so creative. I admire you for doing this project. Happy creating...

Wonderful pages already in your journal ... kudos to you for taking on a monthly project for a year!
I bet you will not be sorry!
Focus is sometimes the thing that can slow us down, isn't it...so many ideas, things to try ... where to begin ... a special series of classes seems perfect to me!
Happy Tuesday to you!

Great pages, Marilyn....you know I'll have a hundred questions about this class. Loved how softness and light plays on the pages. I might just dive in a forge ahead with this. Your idea of an online class also sounds great.

Good wishes!

My problem is choosing which on line class to do first!!! I love what you are doing here with Pam- just yummy. I love the idea of journaling but can't seem to keep up with one- sigh!!!! I am taking a class with Traci Bunkers called Journaling for Virgins so maybe just maybe, I will feel less intimidated about the whole thing!! Love and Hugs!

I love your journal, Marilyn, and wish I could "commit" to 365 type journal, but alas, I had to finally admit I couldn't. OH no, but don't weep for me Argentia... ok, I got carried away. I love what you have done, love the door page and thank you for showing the signatures! Great work. Hope you are feeling better, hugs,

Hi Marilyn - the cover and the first two pages are beautiful - I can see you've incorporated her way of blending colors and images so well. And I love the door especially because I get to see it in someone's art! I walked by it everyday on my way to the market.

I think it's a great idea to make that kind of commitment for your own personal growth - builds discipline...that d word that evades me all too often!!!
